Homemade Yard Decorations

Halloween yard decorations by burningkarmaMaking your own Halloween decorations to go in your yard is a good way to save a bit of money and have some fun.  You can get the whole family involved and be as creative as you like.  We’ve got a few ideas here for easy to make decorations and props.

1. Get some big sheets of cardboard and cut out tombstone shapes.  Use grey spray paint to make them look more realistic and then write whatever you want on them using craft paint or marker pen.  It’s amusing to write the names of people attending your party.  Fix them to the lawn using tent pegs or wire.

2. Make a monster by stuffing old clothes with newspaper to make the body, then attach old gloves and socks to make the hands and feet.  For the head you could make something out of papier mache, or a balloon, or leave it headless!

3. Get an old white sheet and paint a scary face on it using black paint, then hang it from a tree or porch to make it look like a ghost.

4. Get some green color light bulbs from a hardware store and put them in all your outside lights to create an eery atmosphere.
