Spooky Spiders Made From Egg Boxes

Egg cartons are useful for all sorts of crafts that kids can make and these spiders are perfect for making at Halloween.  Children can do most of it by themselves, but may need help with cutting and it’s best to keep an eye on them so the mess they create doesn’t get too out of hand!

Method

Cut out the cups from a cardboard egg box.  Each cup will become a spider, so cut out as many as you plan to make!  Paint them black and leave them to dry.

Get some black pipe cleaners and make them into spider’s legs.  The kids can glue these to their cup, 4 on each side.

The kids can then give their spiders eyes, buy glueing on plastic eyes, beads or anything suitable from your crafts box.

When the spiders are finished, make a small hole in the top of each one and thread some elastic through.  Knot it on the inside of the spider’s body so you can use it to hang your spiders up. 

These spiders make great decorations for a Halloween party or can be simply hung in your porch to welcome trick-or-treaters.
