Adult Halloween Costumes

Halloween is not just for kids.  Parties for adults are increasingly popular and dressing up in an outrageous costume gives you the chance to unleash your wild side.  By wearing a costume you have a chance to take on the persona of a totally different character for the night.  Costumes give us the confidence to act how we wouldn’t normally and allow us to be as silly or outrageous as we dare.

When choosing your costume for a Halloween party, pretty much anything goes.  You can dress as scary, sexy or crazy as you like.  Ideas for womens Halloween costumes include a Sexy Witch, Devilor Vampiress. Men could consider dressing as Count Dracula, a Headless Butler or the Grim Reaper

If you like the idea of putting on lots of makeup for Halloween, why not go for a Goth costume?  There are many Gothic themed costume ideas, from a Gothic Fairy to a Gothic bride and groom.  To complete the look, you’ll need to use very pale foundation, black eyeliner, blood red lipstick and black nail polish.

Superheros or Villains

This is a popular fancy dress theme for a Halloween party.  Superman or Supergirl, Spiderman or Spidergirl, Batman and Robin are favourites.  Baddies such as The Joker or Cat Woman are popular too.

Famous People

It can be great fun to dress up in a flamboyant costume as a famous person – living or dead.  Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Elton John and Michael Jackson are favourite ideas.

Fairy Tale

Princesses, princes and other characters from Disney films have inspired many fancy dress costumes.  Cinderella, Snow White or Aladdin are some ideas, but you can probably find a costume for pretty much any Disney character.

Last minute

For those who’ve left it too late to buy a costume or who’ve received a last minute invite, some costumes are easy to make.  For example, you could wrap a sheet around yourself to make a toga or find a white lab coat and toy stethoscope and go as a doctor.
